Chibuike "Meaku" Franklyn Omeaku is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter and actor who grew up in Inglewood, California. Upon earning his degree in musical engineering, Meaku began writing, mixing, and vocal arranging records from his own studio for himself and his peers both domestically and internationally thus becoming a multi-marketed musical sensation.
In 2011, Eldee, a Nigerian music mogul discovered Meaku's talent and arranged for him to collaborate with some of the top African based artists such as D'Banj, M.I, and Naeto C. In 2014, Meaku became one of the most sought after audio engineers and vocalists in the Nigerian music scene. He Recently collaborated with 2015 BET award winner and Airtel clothing ambassador Eddy Kenzo, as well as African R&B Crooner, Hennessy, and MTN Ambassador Praiz, who sold 3 million ringtones in 3 days.
Upon simultaneously gaining credibility in the US music industry, Meaku had the opportunity to work with artists such as New Boyz who gained popularity for their single "You're a Jerk", and "Tie Me Down", Cali Swag District known for "Teach Me How To Dougie", and Canada's own Karl Wolf who Meaku collaborated with on his single "Toronto Love” on Karl Wolf's latest solo album "Wow" that hit #1 on the iTunes R&B charts.
Meaku has had much success with his own musical masterpieces gaining accolades and international fanfare for his hits such as "Her Body" (2013) which ranked #48 on the Independent charts and “Baddest” (2014) which continues to have heavy rotation in the Nigerian radio market. He is currently launching 2 highly anticipated singles Internationally; "Baby Oh" ft. Eddy Kenzo, and MTV Base Africa sponsored single "Selfies" ft. Eddy Kenzo and Praiz.
Meaku is also Co-Founder and Senior VP of a new television network Direct African Network Television (DAN TV) that partnered with OH TV (Europe), and soon Comcast and Direct TV. The channel is set to launch Q1 2016 and is geared towards highlighting the positivity and beauty of Africa through music, movies, sports, lifestyle, reality, and news.
